Director of After-School Programming and Hebrew at Temple Emanuel

We are seeking a motivated and organized individual to join our team as the Director of Kesher After-School Program, Hebrew, and Curriculum. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, be computer proficient, adept at prioritizing multiple tasks, and demonstrate effective communication. Responsibilities:

Oversee the Kesher K-5 After School Program, which meets on Mondays and Wednesdays (60%)
• Run the Kesher after-school program
• Lead Kesher student recruitment efforts
• Hire/Supervise Kesher staff
• Keep track of Kesher budget
• Communicate with Kesher's parents
• Manage Kesher curriculum
• Create a Kesher calendar and schedule
• Oversee Kesher family events; collaborate with the entire education department on special holiday events and programs

Co-Direct Temple Emanuel Middle School Offerings (20%)
• Work with the Director of Education to co-direct offerings for grades 6-8, including structure, field trips, and curriculum
• In the first year, potentially include separate and complementary Chai385 and Kesher Middle School programs, such as Teen Ulpan, B-Mitzvah prep, etc.

Coach and advise Religious School teachers and Kesher teachers on Hebrew instruction and project-based learning (20%)
• Be an integral part of the curriculum development team for Religious School, Chai385, and Kesher
• Provide professional development for Religious School, preschool, and Kesher
• Conduct observations, oversight, and coaching for teachers of Hebrew language instruction in the Religious School and Kesher
• Provide teacher coaching and guidance for project-based learning

Workweek Structure During the School Year:
• Mondays: Kesher
• Tuesdays: Office
• Wednesdays: Kesher
• Thursdays: Religious School
• Sundays: Religious School (8:30-12:30 or 2:00 if monthly staff meeting)

Additional Information

The position will be in-person with some flexibility to work remotely.
